CAS - Clean and Simple

So I've been making some One Layer Cards this weekend - thought I'd give it a shot.

~Card Recipe~
Stamps: Impression Obsession Girly Words set, Thank You Kindly
Paper: PTI SSWhite
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black
Accessories: Copic marker, Stickles

So for some more interest on the ship here I inked it with the VersaFine and then I stamp the bouquet from the Doodlebug Wedding set, onto the solid stamp, taking away some ink, this left the neat pattern on the boat
Here's a close up...

~Card Recipe~
Stamps: Rubber Soul Travel set, Thank You Kindly, Doodlebug Wedding set
Paper: PTI SSWhite
Ink: VersaFine Deep Lagoon
Accessories: BG Pearls, Tempting Turquoise ribbon

Here I inked up the tree with Kiwi Kiss and then over that with Old Olive, on the trunk & edge of leaves - bit of bling & ribbon - TaDa!  Can't say as I love actually tying the ribbon around the card, I usually tie it around a wood block, cut it off & position it on card and glue to the back of the layer so that it's snug :)

Paper:  PTI SSWhite

Magical Monday - Deco Flower - Embossing Challenge

Gooood morning! This week's Free Limited Edition digital stamp is Deco Flower by Nina May at There's Magic in the Air. Today's challenge was my idea - so today I challenge you to emboss with this image. While I used my Perfect Medium pen to do heat embossing directly on the image after I colored it, you can emboss any part of your card. Dry embossing will be included as well.....so even scoring for decorative effect would be included ~ sky's the limit so as along as it's embossing... it works!

I've actually used both heat & dry embossing.

Here's a close up of the heat embossing I did.... I colored first, so there wouldn't be any white peeping out. I used Tanzanite PearLustre embossing powder - I jut love the way this stuff melts! and for the yellow I used Sparkle n Sprinkle Dandy Dandelion , which is semi-transparent and has glitter in it ;)

So get on over there and pick up this week's image and join us in the challenge!

Leafy Sympathy Duo

Well here's my first ever Sympathy cards I've made... hope I don't need them, but I can always sell them - made two since I couldn't decide which way it looked better.
I just got the MS stamps on clearance at WM - I bought them anyway even though they are not the "good" kind of clear stamps. for $5 I need more of this type of stamp ;)
These cards are 4.25" squares - because I bought some 5" square envies, that are really more like 4.5" ;)
Stamped the image with Spanish Moss VersaFine on Kiwi Kiss, then inked the edges with Shabby Shutters

Stamps: Martha Stewart Leave & Branches, PTI Mixed Messages
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Black
Ink: VersaFine Spanish Moss & Onyx Black
Accessories: Prima daisies, buttons

Miss You Tilda

I love the way this one turned out ~ had to draw in the mouth... can't help it sometimes. I colored with Copic & Bic markers and then some candlelight Shimmerz on the umbrella and Aleene's paper glaze on the water - I just love that stuff!

Tilda is mounted on Pink Passion, the base is PTI Lemon Tart and the strips are Pretty in Pink, which I inked the edges with Pink Passion ink. Finished off with sunshine eyelets from my stash and stamped Miss You from the PTI Mixed Messages. I have a sentiment that reads, if raindrops were kisses, I'd send you a storm.... Think I will put that inside ;)

Here's some detail of the Shimmerz and the Paper Glazing

Magical Monday Introducing Kacey!

Happy Magical Monday Ladies & Gents!!!
Today's new image is Kacey! Now, I think Nina made this image just for me... because she KNOWS how I love fairies! :)
Today there is a sketch challenge over at There's Magic in the Air and here is my try at it!

Kind of a "busy" sketch for me, but I am pleased with how it came together, once I got everything squeezed in. heehee
I printed Kacey out at about 4" tall, colored her in with my markers, inked the edges of that panel with Distress Inks in Broken China and Mustard Seed. I also inked on the yellow flowers with the Mustard Seed ink, because, well they were a little pale for my taste LOL and inked the edges of all the yellow cs and the blue scallops with SU Pacific Point

here's my card

I printed him out twice at about 2.5"inches.... give or take LOL

I felt like I just HAD to use some embossing in honor of Nina today, because she IS the one who got me all set up to emboss! :) The sentiment is a combo of two stamps that I embossed in two colors, cut out and also on popdots, finally, inked the edge of the image panel and the dp and added ribbon.
