There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes - BLOG HOP

Hello! Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening!

You have arrived on the 9th stop of the "
There's Magic In The Air" Recipe Blog Hop.

The image Nina asked me to use is Jessie. Isn't she just the cutest fairy! I've colored her with markers and of course inked the edge. Crimped the mat for additional interest. You have a chance of winning this image in a random drawing, by leaving a comment for me. Sweet huh?

Here is one of my family's favorite Christmas recipes: (well it's not MINE, I got it from McCormick, but it's always a hit when I make it.)

Ginger Pumpkin Cheesecake
8 ounces gingersnaps, finely crushed
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin
1 tablespoon flour
2 teaspoons McCormick® Pumpkin Pie Spice
whipped cream
pecan halves

1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine gingersnap crumbs, butter and sugar. Press into bottom and sides of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake 15 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.
2. Beat cream cheese and brown sugar with electric mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add next 4 ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour into crust. Bake 50 minutes or until lightly browned on top and almost set.
3. Remove from oven and cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
4. Run knife around inside edge of pan and release sides.
Place on serving plate and garnish with whipped cream and pecan halves.

Now for my secret word: LOVE
This is the final word, so be sure to post your secret sentence on your blog & link it back here to Mr. Linky below.

If you arrived on my blog first, you need to go to the beginning of this blog hop HERE to get all the directions and to hop along & collect all the clues. If you arrived from craftieodamae's blog then you are on the right path. Remember to leave a comment on my blog then your next stop now is to go over to Nina's blog to see another card/project, find a new recipe, and see the Final Challenge.

Magic Monday - Sweet Trouble

Today's Limited Time Free Image from There's Magic in the Air is Sweet Trouble and the Challange is..."Clean and Simple card with limitations on what you can use (e.g., "NO" brads, bows, or anything that would make it challenging to mail) and a color requirement PINK, of course, must appear on your card somewhere."

I've used ribbon, but no bow to make it lumpy, and I've used Aleene's Paper Glaze on the Candy Canes.

Magical Monday - Anything BUT a Card

OK SO today's FREE Limited TIME Image from There's Magic in the Air is NOT THE ONE I USED LOL - it IS Snowy Flight, but I used the wrong image in today's Challenge....when you see today's actual free image, I think that you will see how I got confused, and well...I guess I subconsciously just wanted to use the turtle :) Nina was gracious enough to let me go ahead & post it as a sneak peek of the images that will be available in her new store, Paper Cupcakes! How Exciting! This Week's Challenge was to make "anything but a card." I have made a little card purse. I found the instructions online..... on Andrea Walford's blog Sunny Stampin' Inc., so head on over there for the step by step, she also offers a template, which I did not download, I just used the dimensions she gave.

So here it is..
for my ribbon tabs, I used a Cuttlebug ribbon label die cut and cut it in half, and I used the slit punch to make the scallops

Stamps: Paper Cupcakes Shellie - Shell Sledding

Paper: Rainbow Sherbet dsp, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise

Magical Monday - Deco Flower - Embossing Challenge

Gooood morning! This week's Free Limited Edition digital stamp is Deco Flower by Nina May at There's Magic in the Air. Today's challenge was my idea - so today I challenge you to emboss with this image. While I used my Perfect Medium pen to do heat embossing directly on the image after I colored it, you can emboss any part of your card. Dry embossing will be included as well.....so even scoring for decorative effect would be included ~ sky's the limit so as along as it's embossing... it works!

I've actually used both heat & dry embossing.

Here's a close up of the heat embossing I did.... I colored first, so there wouldn't be any white peeping out. I used Tanzanite PearLustre embossing powder - I jut love the way this stuff melts! and for the yellow I used Sparkle n Sprinkle Dandy Dandelion , which is semi-transparent and has glitter in it ;)

So get on over there and pick up this week's image and join us in the challenge!

Boys Birthdays

Made some boyish birthday cards this past weekend. It's just too easy to make the girly ones, though the boy ones do tend to be simpler without all the ribbon & frills heehee

The first one is Soccer Riley, and I guess it could be sent to a girl too :)

Colored Riley with markers and cut out the star and popped that up on foam squares

Paper: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, patriotic dp
Ink: VersaFine Majestic, black
Accessories: Sizzix photo corner die cuts, markers

This one is definitely for a little space dude ;)

Colored this one with markers too and cut out the space ship and planet - the planet is a little raised off the card base due to the image & mat there under it and the rocket is on foam squares

here's a detail of that
